I feel very strongly that we often go to the doctor to be put on this hamster wheel of medications and diagnosis codes. You get medication for one problem, then suddenly you’re on a slew of others to treat the side effects of the first one. Only to return every 3-6 months to visit your doctor to keep the medications on board or increase the dosage.
We live in ebbs and flows of life. How on earth could something that worked last year work this year? It’s a different season of life!
Okay now- calm down.
Don’t come at me thinking I don’t believe in medicine and healthcare as a whole. I do. Kinda.
Let’s rewind. *hang in there*
With over ten years of experience in healthcare, I noticed some gaps in the corporate system. We can do better, we can become our own health advocates. I love to help people find loopholes to get the best care. We must feel comfortable asking questions and not feel intimidated to just “go with the flow”.
I love finding non-traditional ways to improve health and wellness, truly embracing a whole body approach. We deserve to live life to the fullest and the journey we are put on. I am the most fulfilled when I can help others figure out where they are in their health journey and what support they need to move forward! Life is a balancing act and is much easier when we have real support in place.

Get to Know me
Now for the “real life” bits…
I was constantly at the doctor. I had appointments every month to follow up on my medications and my long standing diagnosis of anxiety. Which eventually was followed up with a side of: nausea, dizziness, heart palpitations, blurred vision, constipation, fatigue, and zero motivation to move or clean anything.
SERIOUSLY- my house was filled with laundry and stacks of things I ignored. BUT, I should have been feeling good right? I was seeing doctors on a regular basis and taking medications as directed. A full list of medications!
One day, I went to see a neurologist because no one could quite figure me out. (Healthcare loves to refer you out to someone else and then oftentimes no one knows what is happening..!)
Guess what he told me?!
“The medications you are taking… they are making you sick.”
WHAT?! He also told me that if I continued with the medications I was taking, I could be facing long-term mobility issues and lose gross motor skills in the next decade.
While I would NEVER recommend quitting medications cold turkey… SERIOUSLY, don’t do that- I chose to do it. I had lots of support in place and even supplemented some natural things to ease the symptoms.
I gave up my laundry list of medications and the following 21 days after that was a blur. Insane withdrawal symptoms, being uncomfortable, not sleeping, feeling desperate and hopeless.
On the other side of it, I started with a clean slate. To this day, I can say I am living life without the use of Benzodiazepines. Yes, I still live with the diagnosis of anxiety, but I have a much different relationship with that label now. I also was officially diagnosed with ADD and feel good with my current plan. The other symptoms have minimized or are gone completely. This is because we are treating the ROOT CAUSE.
Now, I am living in a new season. A season where I believe in my choices and know what my body needs. This journey has been nothing short of pure hell at moments- but now I’m here to walk with you on your journey. The support I had- saved me.
